FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
We have stepped into a new academic session and I’m sure all are eager to get into the thick of things again. It’s the beginning of a new expedition that would unravel before you a magical world of learning full of fun, adventures excitement and enriching experiences. Be inquisitive, proactive and gear up to encounter new ideas, situations, people, tasks, as well as challenges. Be in the moment and seize the opportunities that come your way.
Education is the fuel that ignites the fire within us, propelling us forward with the strength and knowledge to overcome any obstacle that stands in our way. It is not just about academics; it's about developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. It's about fostering a love for learning, building character, and shaping individuals who will make a positive impact in the world. Once Martin Luther King, while addressing a group of university students said: "The biggest criminal is one with good reason and education but without morals”. This statement is very much true in today’s context. The strifes, conflicts, violence, terrorism, exploitation and the unscrupulous murders we witness everyday or the perpetual evil of discriminating people based on their caste, colour, religion, language, community or nationality are not the creation of some illiterate or uncivilized groups. Rather they are the making of some ‘civilized barbarians’ or so called ‘intellectual monsters’ with selfish or the darkest of motives. Hence, in our society, where a lot of people suffer from the greed and cruelty of a few, education assumes a very special role - to prepare students for a healthy, happy, upright, peaceful, responsible and successful social life. This is the mission we have taken up here at Christ school - building up competency and character in our students. This is not a mean task. For this we need a collaborative effort of our staff, students as well as parents. Let’s put our heads, hands and hearts together towards achieving this goal.
As we begin this new academic year, I would like you to keep these things in your mind:
- Set Lofty Goals and work towards achieving them.
- Strive for excellence.
- Be Curious, ask questions, and seek answers.
- Take Risks, learn from failures, and persevere.
- Be Kind and Empathetic; support and encourage one another.
- Be Bold to speak out and sharpen your communication skill.
- Stay Organized, manage your time effectively, and prioritize your well-being.
- Be Positive; believe in yourself and your abilities.
- Be Creative and Innovative.
Always remember this: Each one of you is very special, very unique with a specific set of skills, potentials, attitudes, aptitudes and approaches. Build on your strengths. Work on your weaknesses. Never lose your identity and dignity trying to imitate others. Be open to everything good, but learn to make wise choices.
Let's work together to make this academic year a remarkable one. Remember, every small step counts, and collective effort can lead to a significant positive change. Have a fantastic year ahead. God bless us all.
